Workplace violence prevention training in Utah
On-site training that helps your people spot trouble early, calm angry customers and coworkers, and know exactly what to do if a situation turns dangerous. Kevin Macho lives in Stansbury Park and trains employers across Utah.
Training for Utah employers
Most workplace violence starts small: a threat nobody reported, a customer nobody calmed down, a termination nobody planned. Kevin's workplace violence prevention training teaches employees to recognize warning signs and report them, and teaches leaders to act before a problem becomes an incident.
- Warning signs and reporting: concerning behavior, threats, and how to report without fear of retaliation.
- Verbal de-escalation: words, tone and positioning that calm angry residents, patients, students and coworkers.
- If violence starts: practical active-threat preparedness beyond Run, Hide, Fight.
- For managers and HR: threat response, safer terminations, documentation and support after an incident.
Who we train
Cities and counties, school districts, hospitals and clinics, utilities and special districts, credit unions and banks, manufacturers and distribution centers, ski resorts and hospitality, retailers, and any employer whose staff serve the public. Sessions can be built for front-counter staff, field crews, nurses and front desks, or supervisors.
The legal backdrop in Utah
There is no single OSHA workplace violence standard for most industries. Utah operates its own OSHA-approved state plan through the Utah Occupational Safety and Health Division (UOSH), covering most private employers plus state and local government workplaces, and its general duty requirement mirrors the federal General Duty Clause. Under Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act, federal OSHA has cited employers for recognized workplace violence hazards, and the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission upheld that approach in Secretary of Labor v. Integra Health Management, Inc. (2019). A written prevention plan and regular training are the strongest ways to show you took those hazards seriously.
